But Leonel's dreams are derailed when he's deported to Mexico and discovers that he was never naturalized as an American citizen. In a country where he doesn't speak the language, Leonel unexpectedly finds himself reconnecting with his roots and making new friends who set out to help him find his way back home.

Also, Trejo discovers that someone is monitoring his meetings with Diablo and Yadi begins to feel the stress of her relationship with El Gordo. El Gordo's past is revealed through memories of his time in juvenile detention, while in the present he seeks the help of his contacts in the Chinese mafia. Commander Trejo discovers that someone in his headquarters is spying on his meetings with Diablo. Yadi feels overwhelmed by her relationship. Don Chucho tells El Gordo the truth about his father.
