Leonel Reina is a young Latino boxer with dreams of becoming a champion. But Leonel's dreams are derailed when he's deported to Mexico and discovers that he was never naturalized as an American citizen. In a country where he doesn't speak the language, Leonel unexpectedly finds himself reconnecting with his roots and making new friends who set out to help him find his way back home.

Just before his most important fight, Latino boxer Leonel Reina is deported from the United States. Boxer Leonel Raina is deported to Mexico just as he was about to enter the ring for the most important bout of his life. Adrift in Mexico City's Central Market, Leonel - who doesn't speak Spanish - ends up entangled in a conflict with local gangster El Gordo. Just before the most important fight of his life, Leonel Reina, a Latino boxer in the United States, is deported from the country. Unable to speak a word of Spanish and suddenly astray in the Central Market, Leonel ends up entangled in a conflict with El Gordo, the neighborhood gangster. Assisted by Iker, Kevin and Miss Meche, Leonel sets out on a desperate journey to prove that he is an American citizen and return home.
